These are sound design excerpts from some of our favorite sports-related spots. This type of sound design is bold, impactful and energetic—from the brute collision of opposing NFL players, to the satisfying swoosh of a basketball hoop in a three point shot. When presenting these sounds, there is always a delicate balance between the crowd’s perspective, the broadcast perspective, the team’s perspective, and the inner emotions of individual players.

These spots often involve creating a steady ramp up in energy that builds to a crescendo, and cheering crowds are a great tool to help build that excitement. When an athlete has an internalized moment of focus, the cheers can be hit with a low pass filter to evoke the calm in the eye of the storm.
