cartoon network “acme night open”

For Cartoon Network’s “ACME Night” movie block, we mixed several changeable bumpers to introduce these movies and break for commercials. As the “Opening” bumper begins, the jazzy, swinging music is heavily filtered to give it a lo-fi vintage sound. At this point, both the music and the Roadrunner’s pattering feet are constrained to the middle of the stereo spectrum. But as Wile E. Coyote’s dynamite explodes, the soundscape transforms into a wide, rich stereo.

Throughout these bumpers, we blended classic Looney Tunes sound effects from decades past with slick futuristic sounds, making them feel simultaneously nostalgic and fresh. We recorded the VO in-house, and applied some chorus and filtering to create a robotic effect that matches the electric neon aesthetic.
